Caves of Gallet 2
A downloadable asset pack
The wonderful Cavernas by Adam Saltsman was my choice for my first game jam, check his work out! You can find the game I used it in by looking up Abundance of Death.
This tileset is public domain and free to use for commercial projects. A github mirror to the source project can be found here.
I hope you can keep developing on this tileset, feel free to make a version 3 that is even more complete!
Recent Update: Starter version of Godot 4.1, needs more work as its a little tedious to setup, Godot got no better in that regard from version 3.
Q: How to use?
A: The tiles can be placed manually to create a scene, you can also use a game engine with autotiling to let you place them more easily.
Q: What are the download options?
A: 1.) The png is visible on the right, it includes the tiles ready for autotiling in your engine of choice. Plus Adam Saltsman added some window dressing, so make sure your characters are around 16x16 max to fit in with the birds.
2.) The attached Godot project can be imported to Godot 3.X and played with. It was designed with Godot in mind and a 3x3 minimal autotile bitmask. Consider leaving a comment (with pictures if possible) if you need more help.
3.) This is the GIMP file (like photoshop but open source and free) that I used to make it. I coulda used Tilesetter or Aseprite, but GIMP was free. I'm fairly certain you can open this file in Photoshop, as it can be handy to edit on your own, as it has layers that contain both the useful background overlay which show what tiles you need for a 3x3 bitmask full and an example dude by Elthen, check him out on itch!
4.) Unfinished, once I try making a platformer in Godot 4 I will come back to this. Not every tile is setup, as I found it a tad bit confusing, but it can serve as a basis as the grass and stone and water tiles are setup.

Just wanted to say, this asset has been a godsend in a personal project of mine! I've been exploring some procedural generation, and this has allowed me to not worry about the art side and focus solely on the programming aspect of the project! Thank you!
Can't wait to see what you make!
If you're interested, here's my in-progress update of the project. I made sure to credit you for the art.
Thank you for the update! Looks great!
Hi, can you please tell me which palette you use? You're amazing at drawing!!! (Sorry for my English)
Here's palette (including what I use for testing)
This is based off Adam Saltsman's Cavernas, so not my Palette, just free to use!
And thx!
