Moving the Badguy - Week 4
This week's focus was made on making actors beyond the player have some agency. So far it's totally random, but there were plenty of headaches along the way! For one, I wanted actors to be able to move multiple times per turn, and that got scrapped for this week. Time was a major concern, and yesterday I was focusing on removing parts of planned features in lieu of getting major bugs fixed. Most of these bugs arose from how I handle all living beings (actors), by an array. Another bug was due to me assigning the data wrong instead of duplicating it.
There is now an element of risk to the dungeon, as rats will randomly bite you. It can help to swing first, walking into them being the same as attacking. I think next week will focus on variety and equipables, but I will see where the tutorial goes first. There is already a precursor in code of characters I thought up to use. Also to mention, the last level got made last minute, that too could be a potential focus.
If you've been following along, I wish you a wonderful day!
